In five one liners!

This is a one Ma show. The chief resource! – ME, has a passion for life. It’s her fundamental and driving philosophy in all linguistic works she undertakes and delivers. All she does is - language and language teaching!

And she does it like a Jester ..a Clown ! 

Background

Why does she do it?

 Her credentials! She is a Masters in Linguistics from JNU, New Delhi, India, Graduating Batch of 2001 before which she received her Bachelors in Philosophy from the eminent Lady Shri Ram College, Delhi University, New Delhi, Graduating batch of 1999. She’s been in the corporate circles of American and British Companies at the front-line level which she gates crashed and did, in all kinds of practicality, to get a first hand feel of the Business and the People. As a boisterous and often understood as the IVR because of her crisp voice quality and English – Call Taker, she was functional for half a decade. And after her child was born, a chirpy boy- who’s now a teen, she shifted her area of work to Teaching and teaching English, with some French thrown in. Has stuck to it for good and has been on field for another half a decade. After qualifying the coveted NET Exam for Linguistics in 2017, she is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Linguistics, at Mysore University, Karnataka, India.

Research

How does she do it?

Her research area , in keeping with her experience and utility , has scaled up the Philosophy and Linguistics insights she received as a young student , to Teaching English as Second Language using the ancient Indian Grammatical Theory of Sphota expounded and engineered by Bartrihari, an ancient Indian Grammarian to whom she was introduced 25 years ago during her MA Program - a subject for which she received an A Minus Grade for her paper on the seminal Text . There is no known work in the field and has received a nod of appreciation, need and pertinence from Dr. Kapil Kapoor, an apex authority in Mainstream Linguistics and English Education in India and who also is an eminent authority on Bhartrihari himself! It was He who had awarded her the A - minus grade in the subject. He was her Professor! at JNU and who is still highly active in apex education circles at the rich age of 85 plus. They are now in touch over the phone! after 25 long years of gap since he last met and taught her, and, has been very encouraging. She still cherishes the time she spent on LSR and JNU campuses and loves all her professors and teachers who continue to inspire her to emulate them through and while at work as a Teacher. She dotes on her students and has exchanged warmth, knowledge and love with whomever she taught. Something that she received from her own teachers, right from the Prep School of HOLY CHILD School, Tagore Garden, New Delhi -her Alma Mater for 16 yrs. All her young students are like her own children for her.

Creative Work

Where does she do it?

Further, she loves doing Voice Overs for Children’s stories and Religious and Motivational books. In keeping with this load of creative and intellectual energies, she authored The Pub Spartan – A book on Public Speaking in 2013 which has since been in the international market, and now, for a decade. 38 websites world wide have got the title running! and she sure is excited about it and wishes to scale it up as a reality show and open “Pubs” where speaking loud, without drinking, is taught and practised! especially for the young and old …Greek style. Pub – by the way, is short for PUBLIC! And, if this interests you, leave a note on the student blog with your details or call and get in touch to kick start and crowdfund it, which she proposes, is open to wagers and hence profit making and loads of fun! She will curate, design and orchestrate it to the last detail!

     The One Ma Show

And now coming back to this one Ma show – Me, I would like to give a brief of what my Linguistic works, here – The English Perks and CDLB, intend. 

I am the English Muse. And, to give a background, The English Perks and CDLB was formulated 5 years ago to channelize energies of all interested people - teeny or tall, young or old, into the English traditions, mostly American and British, sieved through the mind of the Essential Indian, as I call it. “The Essential” – implying, ‘essence’.

And, when I say, that I have a passion for life, as I have said above, I have a twin aim of breaking spells , to enliven my gentry through language and  at the same time to explore the sensibility and truth about the White ..Le blanc in French, using the French nomenclature, to signify a revolution, like the French revolution, here - the centre of our own core and soul, extending and redefining it to the whole world and in the current century. Its chiefly is an inner revolution of your very core, personal or professional , and at the same time exploring and getting to the centre of the truth, signified by the word ‘white’ which, like the ‘light’, is to be perceived as both yellow and white, like the light of the sun. Hence, it has also got the natural or environmental flavour through exploring and training of the sensibilities embedded in the layouts and design of its various initiatives – the courses, worksheets, activities, Articles or tests that I have designed for The English Perks and CDLB. So, as you proceed through my content, you will be dealing with these twin intentions. 

A Foreword

However, my central idea, intention and effort is to ensure that you all have fun as you tune or fine tune your Language skills especially English and that of Reasoning which, for all practical reasons, are intertwined with each other.

And, I always wanted to be in the entertainment industry! But the dominant ideologies restrained me. And, I am sure you can understand- why? If you have understood me, in my brief soliloquy here.

Lastly, my dears, everything is language.  So, like I have mentioned here and there, all over this portal! - Let the revolution Begin! It’s almost time. We are entering into the Third decade of the 21st CENTURY. And we can’t let down our bright ancestors! That’s how I feel .. do YOU?
